D. A V. Centenary Public School Jind principal Mrs. Rashmi Vidyarthi ji organized yellow colour day on the occasion of Basant Panchami in school on the arrival of spring after winter season. Vidyarthi told children that Basant Panchami is also known as Saraswati Puja. Mustard fields blossom at the time of Basant Panchami, giving yellow and beautiful colors all around. People wear yellow on this day, because yellow reflects spring. Basant Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of Magh month, which comes in January or February every year. It's a day to fly a kite and have fun. On this day, younger, elders and children fly kite together and eat salty and sweet dishes. Children brought about fifty types of yellow food items like besan pudding, sweet rice, besan laddu, barfi, poha, chilla, dhokla, bread pakora, yellow pastry, curry, chickpeas, french fries, turmeric milk, fruity, dhoklaidli, sevaiya etc. The sweet smell of these delicious meals spread all around and making the atmosphere fragrant. All the teachers wore yellow clothes on the occasion of Basant Panchami. Decorated with yellow balloons. Children sat on the yellow chairs. Yellow craft items exhibited. Kids made a kite and colored it yellow. Children recited poems related to yellow colour. Children were performed a group dance to the melody of the beautiful songs of Basant Panchami. Reciting poetry told children about the yellow color of the sun and its energy and encouraged everyone to help without any selfishness like the sun. All the kids looked very happy and excited. Mrs. Rashmi Vidyarthi ji said that these kind of activities help children learn faster and boost their self confidence.
